加州蒙特利 Monterey 一日遊

師大校友舉辦加州蒙特利一日遊, 參觀了:
(1) 西班牙傳教所 Mission San Juan Bautista ( Saint John the Baptist) is a Spanish mission founded on June 24, 1797. It is the movie (Vertigo) shootin scene. 電影-迷魂記場景. An unpaved stretch of the original El Camino Real (Spanish: Royal Road 皇家大道), just east of the mission, lies on a San Andreas fault 斷層上 scarp. Early Mutsune indians 印第安人 lived in villages composed of thatched huts made of willow and grass, and as they lived the simple hunter-gatherer 狩獵-採集 lifestyle common to California Indians, left little mark on the land.
(2) 美國作家約翰·史坦貝克中心 John Steinbeck Center: John Steinbeck, 曾獲得1962年諾貝爾文學獎。其主要代表作有: 憤怒的葡萄、製罐巷、伊甸之東、人鼠之間 等。(The Grapes of Wrath , Cannery Row, East of Eden, Of Mice and Men etc.)
(3) 製罐巷 Cannery Row is the waterfront street in the New Monterey section of Monterey, California. It is the site of a number of now-defunct sardine canning 沙丁魚罐頭 factories. Early Chinese fishermen lived in stilt houses on sufrace of ocean. 早期的華裔漁民住在海上的高腳屋裡。
